Bikers Shed is a community based garage ,a free facility for bikers of all ages and competencies to come in and carry out supervised maintenance on their bikes, we also provide a space for necessary safety checks and repairs to be carried out, our aim is to make educational and practical resources freely available for bikers. We host a range of courses and biker based information days to educate and keep bikers abreast of the latest in biker maintenance and safety. Bikers Shed Bio Established in the spring of 2017 the Shed has grown and gone from strength to strength welcoming riders from the length and breadth of Ireland, as well of several places worldwide. The idea was conceived when one of our teammates needed some work done on his own bike and approached a good friend and well known custom bike builder on the Irish biking scene Tom Hanrahan. Tom ran his own business in South Dublin rebuilding and customizing bikes and so was well versed on all things bike, he offered to provide a space and tools to work on the bike to the best of the riders ability and offered his assistance on the parts that needed a professional touch, this was to keep costs down for our teammate and also encourage his ethos that every rider should know and be able to maintain their own bike. Unfortunately Tom passed away due to a roadside motorcycle accident shortly after, but his knowledge, kindness and true biker spirit were the inspiration behind The Bikers Shed, and so the idea became a reality. We now celebrate that fantastic Biker Spirit in our community based garage and educational facilities in Mountrath.
